5 Reasons to Start Using a VPN Today

Have you heard about VPNs but don’t know if they are worth it? Do you want to know why you should start using a VPN, especially regarding your online safety?

VPNs have become increasingly popular in the last few years; however, they are not nearly as many people using them as should be. Many people know they should be using a VPN for some reason or another, but many people don’t.

It could be that we think it’s too complicated or not worth the hassle, but the truth is that using a VPN is easier than ever and is definitely worth the effort. Here are five reasons why you should start using a VPN today.

1. Access Blocked Websites

Unfortunately, there are many places around the world where you can’t access every website on the Internet. This is often done for security reasons and simply because those websites are unavailable in your country. If you live in a country where certain websites are blocked, you can use VPN services to access them.

For example, if you travel to the Netherlands and want to access your favorite shows that might not be available in that country, you can use one of the VPN services listed on EarthWeb to access those websites. You can also use VPN services in countries around the world for streaming services and platforms such as Netflix if you would like to access another country’s Netflix options.

2. Protect Your Personal Information

In recent years, VPNs have become incredibly popular in protecting you and your private information while browsing online. One of the primary reasons to start using a VPN is to protect your personal information.

When you connect to the Internet, your computer sends and receives data that hackers can intercept. A VPN encrypts this data, making it unreadable to anyone who tries to access it. This means that your personal information, such as your passwords and credit card numbers, will be safe from identity theft and cybercrime.

Protecting your personal information is one of the most important reasons to use a VPN, as this is sensitive information that could cause a lot of damage when in the wrong hands.

3. Browse the Internet Anonymously

Another fantastic reason to use a VPN is that it allows you to browse the Internet anonymously. When you browse the Internet regularly without a VPN, it is easy for people to discover your identity, including your name and personal information.

When you connect to the Internet through a VPN, your computer is given a completely new IP address. This IP address can be used to track your online activity. However, there is no chance that it can be traced back to you or your personal computer. Essentially, this means you can browse the Internet without worrying about your privacy being compromised.

4. Bypass Government Censorship

Another great reason to start using a VPN today is that you can bypass government censorship. Simply put, if you live in a country with strict government censorship laws, using a VPN will allow you to bypass these laws and access the Internet freely.

A great example is the citizens of countries like Iran and Saudi Arabia use VPNs to access banned websites such as YouTube and Twitter as well as other social media platforms. Although these websites are banned, they are not inherently bad, so doing this is not such a terrible thing.

5. Improve Your Streaming Experience

Last but certainly not least, if you enjoy streaming videos or music online, VPN can drastically improve your experience. When you connect to the Internet through a VPN server, your traffic is routed through that server before it reaches its destination. Essentially, if the server is located in a country with faster Internet speeds, your streaming experience will be greatly improved.
