All versions of Magento 1 END OF LIFE (EOL) on June 30, 2020. What’s your plan?

Magento has officially announced that all versions of Magento 1 end of life included:

  • For Magento Commerce 1 (formerly known as Enterprise Edition)
  • For Magento Open Source 1 (formerly known as Community Edition)

will become end of life (EOL) on June 30, 2020. This announcement means that no updated versions, no longer receive official support from either Magento or Adobe, or no security patches will be launched for Magento 1 after this date.

“We understand that many of our Magento 1 merchants need additional time to make the transition to newer versions of Magento. To that end, our software support policies ensure that those customers have the time and confidence to upgrade when it is right for their business.”

– Magento Announcement, September 2018

Are your businesses using Magento 1?

If they are, you will need to migrate from the old version to Magento 2 or using another platform that suitable for your business. If you do not migrate, your website could be defenseless to security breaches, and could not satisfy with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS).

Every breach can cause serious consequences for your Magento eCommerce store. In the worst cases, your merchant account could get suspended and you might have to pay for damages and legal proceedings.
